How WattReady is funded

WattReady is free to use and funded primarily through display advertising (Google AdSense). Some pages also include affiliate links — meaning that if you click a link to a retailer or brand and make a purchase, WattReady may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.

Programmes we participate in

WattReady is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, WattReady earns from qualifying purchases.

We also participate, or intend to participate, in affiliate programmes run by specialist solar retailers and manufacturers, including Signature Solar, Renogy, Shop Solar Kits and A1 Solar Store. Where a product links to one of these retailers rather than to Amazon, the button says so, and the disclosure shown on that page names the retailer involved.

Every affiliate link on this site is marked with rel="sponsored nofollow". Links that earn us nothing — for example, manufacturer pages we cite for reference, such as Tesla or Generac — are not marked as sponsored and earn no commission.

What this does not change

Commissions never affect the price you pay. They also never change which products appear in a comparison or in what order — see editorial independence below.

Our editorial independence

Whether or not a link earns us a commission never determines whether we mention a product, brand or recommendation. Our sizing recommendations are based on the wattage math you enter into the calculator, not on which brand pays the highest commission.
